Christian Music Distributor CCLI Calls on mediaRAIN for Customized
Sheet Music Viewer

During the summer of 2005 Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI) approached mediaRAIN to see if musicRAIN could be utilized to take CCLI's SongSelect Advanced subscription product to a new level with transposable sheet music. CCLI, an organization that provides copyright solutions to nearly 200,000 churches and schools throughout the world, sought a solution that would enable the organization to transform its library of 6,000 lead sheets into an online, interactive format. The new format would allow its subscriber base to locate a song, transpose it into the desired key, and print off the desired number of copies as a way to prepare for congregational worship services.

mediaRAIN created musicRAIN 2.0 as the first commercial version of its interactive sheet music viewer. musicRAIN imports MusicXML data from CCLI's library of Finale® files and converts it into secure data that loads into the viewer without the necessity of additional manual tweaking. With MusicXML, CCLI was able to quickly batch export their 12,000 files (6,000 letter size and 6,000 A4 size for their Australian subscribers).

Unlike other music viewer products, musicRAIN can be completely customized to the client. mediaRAIN developed a user interface for CCLI that adopted CCLI's brand elements, including color schemes, fonts, and layout. In this way, the new CCLI viewer is consistent with the rest of CCLI's SongSelect site.
